The Movies section

Movies I love, movies that changed my life, movies that mean something to me.

Bright Star, 2009; Jane Campion

Descriptive text
One of the most visually stunning movies I've ever seen; sweet, delicate, and poetic, Bright Star is based on John Keats and Fanny Brawne's relationship. A must-see for period drama lovers.

Mujeres al borde de un ataque de nervios, 1988; Pedro Almodovar

Descriptive text
Pedro Almodovar is one of my mom's favorite directors. She made me watch this movie when I was 12, and we immediately bonded over it. Even though I was probably too young to fully understand some aspects of it, I instantly fell in love with its chaotic energy, vibrant colors, and Candela's coffee pot earrings. Hilarious, camp, amazing characters, what more can you honestly want from a movie?

kirikou et la sorcière, 1998; Michel Ocelot

Descriptive text
The movie that made me fall in love with the art of animation. I saw it for the first time when I was a child and loved it immediately, then rewatched it as a teenager and it hit so hard... A beautiful tale about grief, forgiveness, and the power of kindness.
